We will change the world. Shirt by shirt. Suit by suit.
We are going to do it by spreading tailored fashion across the world. Why you may wonder? Because a bad fit spoils more than just your look.
Nowadays major fashion houses around the world are not always at the helm of the latest technology innovations. Not only because they make clothes in just the standard sizes, which often don’t fit the majority of the world’s population, but also since they force us to rush back and forth to the dressing room, with a pile of different sizes until we find a decent fit.
When the clothes don’t fit we have two options. Either we throw them away or return them to the store. Both options are on the increase and both impact our environment.
At Tailor Store we deliver sartorial fashion, tailored for you. Nothing else. Sartorial fashion garments never go out of fashion and are certainly not throwaways. It is something that you can wear from a young age until your grandchildren are the same age as when you started wearing sartorial fashion. For this reason, sartorial fashion is also sustainable fashion.
You probably assume that you will be paying a fortune for these tailored items, with the perfect fit guarantee and avoidance of the well-established brands’ standard sizes. That’s not the case. At Tailor Store, you will find affordable garments.
It is worth noting that our items take a bit longer to be delivered as, unlike most e-commerce sites which lift ready-made items off the shelves, we hand craft each garment to fulfill the highest level of expectations. This, as you may expect, requires time. Our process starts once you have completed your order.
We will change the world. Shirt by shirt. Suit by suit.

Working in an outdated trade
Nowadays major fashion houses around the world are not always at the helm of the latest technology innovations. Not only because they make clothes in just the standard sizes, which often don't fit majority of the world's population, but also since they force us to rush back and forth to the dressing room, with a pile of different sizes until we find a decent fit.
Major brand’s big ad campaigns, constant release of new collections and changing trends lead us to buying new items. Items which don’t even fit us, in much larger volumes than ever before.
If the clothes don't fit, we have two choices. We can either throw them away, or return them to the shop. Both options are on the rise globally and both have a very negative impact on the environment.
In Sweden, people throw away 8 kilograms of clothing per person per year. Just as many kilograms of hard chemicals have been used to manufacture these clothes, handled by workers in textile factories. Moreover 29,000 liters of water had also been used, which had led to parts of the world drying up.
Option number two is that if we don't throw the clothes away, we return them. Considering that consumption has increased, we return more clothes than ever today. Almost 40% of clothing items bought online are sent back. That is an enormous amount of clothes, which is not only delivered to you, but is transported back the same way, and the environment is the biggest victim.
When we don't purchase online we visit clothing shops. Retailers fill the shops with standard sizes with the hope of these fitting most customers. But that is simply not possible. Therefore we run from store to store, from dressing room to dressing room, with a pile of different sizes to find a shirt that fits us best, rarely finding that perfect fit. The reason why? Each brands standard sizes vary, as does each customer's body shape and type.
From soot stains to own tailor shop
It was in Sri Lanka, where a 23-year-old exchange student first came into contact with tailored clothing. It made him realize that tailored clothing didn’t need to be expensive or difficult to source. Shortly after Tailor Store was founded, and the 23-year-old and his co-founder realized the need to combat the standard sizing and help the environment along the way.
The first shirt was delivered shortly after, carefully cut-out and tailored by its first tailor - Mr Nava. A tailor who still to this day sews our customer's clothes.
The first delivery also brought with it it’s first complaint – a black soot mark on a white collar. Mr Nava had ironed the shirt, heating the iron with the glowing embers of a coconut shell, inevitably staining the garment.
Soon after that incident, the founders decided to build their own tailors workshop, with modern equipment and the latest technology. Tailor Store now employs over 500 tailors and cutters, alongside Mr Nava.
We believe it is the tailors who become the product. They carefully choose and hand-cut the fabric for your shirt. Cutting out and sewing it to suit your measurements, checking the stiffness of the collar, sewing the buttons onto the blazer, ironing, folding and gently packaging all garments for swift delivery.
It is the tailors who carefully create an item which you are not going to return or exchange, as it has been made with your specific measurements and design idea. Each step is therefore leading to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly clothing industry.
Our tailors are much more than just the product, they are the heart of our company. They provide you with a perfect fit every time, so you can feel well dressed from morning to night.
We deliver sartorial fashion, nothing else.
In order for you to feel well dressed, we first work on helping you find that perfect fit. That is what determines how often, if ever, you actually wear the garment. It is something you simply can’t get in standard sizes, regardless of the items price.
At Tailor Store we let you be the designer. Whether it is a simple outfit, going out staple, or a sartorial fashion statement, we have it sorted. You will not only be well-dressed, but acquire items which will never go out of fashion and are certainly not a throwaway, which we see far too often among the major clothing chains and well-established brands. Our garments are something you can wear from a young age, until your grandchildren reach the same young age you were when you first discovered sartorial fashion. This is yet another way to create a more sustainable fashion industry.
However we certainly don’t encourage you to wear the same clothes for all those years. With over 300 different fabrics to choose from, everything from the season's latest patterns to the timeless classics; we always have the latest trends on offer. We offer choice like no other brand and give you control over the entire look of the garment, starting with the fit and finishing with the smallest of details. How about a light-brown button on your blue slim fit shirt, with an extreme cut-away collar? Our tailors will see to it! Whether you are after a classic, modern, slim or relaxed look, we have something to suit you. We do it so that you use your item to the greatest extent possible, and thus impact the environment as little as possible.
The various options mean that the item will look just as you would like it to, while the craftsmen ensure it is cut correctly and tailored to your body. We believe this creates that feeling of confidence so difficult to achieve in a mass-produced item.
Regardless of whether you are going out, attending a conference, visiting a restaurant, or working in the office you should always feel well-dressed, rather than worrying about the sleeve of your shirt being longer than the sleeve of your blazer, or your collar lying outside the edge of it. With our garments you can take the perfect fit for granted.
Don’t be surprised when you begin hearing compliments about your clothes. We hope people will notice the uniqueness and the perfect fit, something they are unable to find in any standard mass-produced items.
Technology enabling a paradigm shift
Succeeding at changing the world shirt by shirt, suit by suit requires more than just our tailors. We need technology which enables our customers to design their perfect outfits, insert measurements without needing a measuring tape, and most importantly incorporate our knowledge of sartorial fashion to once and for all win over traditional stores with their standard sizes and dressing rooms.
We have developed and honed all this since 2003. We are not saying we have achieved all of our goals, but we are ready to offer you an experience which will mean you never have to run from store to store, dressing room to dressing room, ever again.
It has never been easier to buy tailored clothing. With our latest technology you don’t even need a measuring tape. The only thing you need is your collar size, your weight and height. Our algorithm then calculates your body’s measurements so perfectly that even we couldn’t believe the results when we first tried it. However, if you have the assumption of the item not fitting you perfectly, we offer a fit guarantee. But don’t worry about it, fewer than five per cent of our customers have needed to use it.
It has really never been easier to design your clothes exactly as you would like them. With the vast choice of everything from the fabrics and fit, to details such as buttons and threads. If, on the other hand, you would like some advice on the latest trends and styles, we have a number of ready-designed items as well as style experts who are always on hand to help you design outfits that suit your taste.
It is worth noting that our items take a bit longer to be delivered, as unlike most e-commerce sites, which lift ready-made items off the shelves, we hand craft each garment to fulfill the highest level of expectations. This, as you may expect requires time. Our process starts once you have completed your order. Our cutters pick out the fabric you have chosen and cut it to your measurements. The skilled tailors then take over and sew your item according to your size and all the details you have chosen. After strict quality control, ironing and packaging the item is on its way to you.
Despite the waiting time, there has never been an easier way to purchase clothes.
Affordable, world-changing clothes
You probably assume that you will be paying a fortune for these tailored items, with the perfect fit guarantee and avoidance of the well-established brands' standard sizes. That’s not the case. At Tailor Store, you will find affordable sartorial fashion.
Affordable clothes may lead you to believe that we exploit cheap labour in poorer parts of the world, use child labour or other horrible tactics so often reported about in the textile industries. That is certainly not the case with Tailor Store. We pay all of our employees higher than the average wage, give them opportunities to train during work hours, play sports and practice music to name just a few concrete examples.
We have a large selection of organic fabrics, which is constantly expanding. Our few suppliers have to comply with our code of conduct and fulfill various environmental checks.
Despite all these efforts, we still need to rely on standard methods of transport to ship our clothes. In order to compensate the CO2 emissions we plant new, vital rainforests in areas we work in, or are most affected by environmental changes. This is something we plan to continue with for as long as we exist.
So if you ask how are we able to deliver affordable, tailor made, perfectly fitted clothing, it is because we are a vertically integrated company, which does everything it can internally in order to keep costs down. We also cut out as many unnecessary middlemen as possible, such as retailers and wholesalers.
Another way in which we keep the costs down is that we don't need to pretend to be something we're not. We know who we are as a brand, and we know what we deliver to our customers. Hence we do not need to buy expensive advertising space to convince you to try our clothes and we can rely on an unparalleled word of mouth from our valued, long-term customers.
We are changing the world. And we are doing it by tailoring sartorial fashion for you with perfect fit. By taking responsibility and continuing to develop a sustainable business idea, we will show the established brands, the major clothing chains and you, that there is a better way to manufacture and wear clothes. We are convinced that tailoring is the answer.
We have some way on this journey, but we also know more can be done.
What we are certain of is that we will change the world. Shirt by shirt. Suit by suit.
